महाराष्ट्राची संस्कृती म्हणजेच मराठी संस्कृती !

ही परंपरा फार मोठी आहे. ह्या मातीत रुजलेला मराठी माणूस जगाच्या पाठीवर कोठेही गेला तरी आपली संस्कृती बरोबर घेऊन जातो आणि तेथील जगाला आपल्या संस्कृतीची ओळख करुन देतो.

आपली संस्कृती, रीतिरिवाज जपण्यासाठी, त्यांचे संवर्धन करुन पुढच्या पिढी पर्यंत पोचवण्यासाठी महाराष्ट्र मंडळ दुबई ची स्थापना झाली. १९७३ मध्ये श्री. नाना शहाणे आणि त्यांच्या सहकाऱ्यांनी महाराष्ट्र मंडळ दुबई या वृक्षाचं बीज रोवलं. ४-५ सदस्यांपासून सुरू झालेल्या मंडळाची सभासद संख्या आजमितीला १००० च्या घरात आहे. ५० वर्षांपूर्वी लावलेला हा वटवृक्ष विस्तारित होतोय ही एक अभिमानाची गोष्ट आहे.

महाराष्ट्र मंडळ दुबई, सांस्कृतिक आणि पारंपारिक वारसा जपण्याचा कसोशीने प्रयत्न करतं. दुसरे विश्व साहित्य संमेलन, संत समागम सोहळा, तुकाराम बीज यासारखे कार्यक्रम प्रायोजित करून आपलं मंडळ महाराष्ट्राशी असलेली आपली नाळ जपण्याचा प्रयत्न करीत आहे. दुबई महाराष्ट्र मंडळ गेली ४९ वर्ष अनेक सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक आणि मनोंरंजनात्मक कार्यक्रम करीत आहे. आरोग्य/रक्तदान शिबिर सारखे सामाजिक उपक्रम मंडळ नेमाने राबवित असत. मैत्र जिवाचे सारख्या उपक्रमातून Covid -19 च्या दरम्यान अनेक गरजू व्यक्तींना अन्न धान्य पुरवठा, औषधोपचारासाठी मदत, वैद्यकीय समुपदेशन, नातेवाईकांशी संपर्क साधण्याकरिता मोबाईल रिचार्ज या सुविधा मंडळाने  देऊ केल्या अणि गरजूंना यूएई ते पुणे, मुंबई चार्टर्ड फ्लाइट उपलब्ध करून आपली सामाजिक बांधिलकी जोपासली.

वर्षभर मनोरंजक कार्यक्रमांद्वारे भारतातून आमंत्रित केलेल्या कलाकारांच्या संगीत मैफिली, व्यावसायिक नाटकांचे प्रयोग याव्यतिरिक्त दुबईतील हौशी कलाकारांनी सादर केलेले नाटक, संगीत आणि करमणुकीचे कार्यक्रम सादर होत असतात. लहान मुलांसाठी वेगवेगळे उपक्रम राबवले जातात. याशिवाय गणपती, मंगळागौर, गुढीपाडवा, दिवाळी, मकर संक्रांत, होळी यासारखे पारंपारिक सण देखील स्थानिक कायद्याच्या चौकटीत राहून साजरे केले जातात.

अनेक सभासदांसाठी नवीन मैत्री, नवीन नाती फुलवणार मंडळ रुपी आनंदाचे झाड निश्चितच ‘परदेशातील माहेरघर’ आहे.

The culture of Maharashtra represents Marathi culture!

This tradition is incredibly significant to all Marathi people. Wherever we go across the world, we take our culture with us and introduce it to the local people.

To preserve our culture, traditions, and customs and to pass them on to the next generations, the Maharashtra Mandal Dubai was established. In 1973, Mr. Nana Shahane and his associates sowed the seeds of this organization. From a humble beginning with 4-5 members, the organization has now grown to over 1000 members. This thriving tree planted 50 years ago is a matter of immense pride.

The Maharashtra Mandal Dubai makes dedicated efforts to promote cultural and traditional heritage. Besides participating in various global literary conferences and spiritual gatherings, the Mandal organizes programs such as Tukaram Beej to propagate our culture to the world. For the past 49 years, the Mandal has been actively conducting numerous social, cultural, and entertainment events. The Mandal has been actively involved in community service activities like health camps and blood donation drives. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mandal had extended help to many individuals by providing food, medication, medical advice, and facilitating communication with their families and arranged chartered flights from UAE to Pune and Mumbai to the people in need.

Throughout the year, the Mandal hosts entertaining programs featuring artists from India, classical music concerts, professional plays, and other cultural events unique to Dubai. Various events are organized for children as well. Festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Mangalagaur, Gudi Padwa, Diwali, Makar Sankranti, Holi, and other traditional festivals are also celebrated with great enthusiasm within the boundaries of the local laws and regulations.

For many members, the Mandal is like a second home, offering new friendships and relationships. It truly represents ‘home away from home’ for all the Marathi people living in the region.
